BECOME A CONTRIBUTOR

Do you have outdoor skills, experience or knowledge that could help someone else?

Survival Guides UK is looking for people who love the outdoors and want to share what they know with others.

You don’t need to be a professional writer.

You don’t need your own website.

And you don’t need to have contributed to a website before.

You just need something useful to teach.

Whether you know your way around a campfire, can navigate with a map and compass, enjoy hiking and camping, teach outdoor skills, practise bushcraft or simply have years of experience in the outdoors, we’d love to hear from you.

What Can You Contribute?

We’re interested in practical outdoor knowledge that people can actually use.

You could contribute:

  • Outdoor skills and techniques
  • Camping and campcraft
  • Fire lighting and fire safety
  • Navigation and map reading
  • Knots and pioneering
  • Bushcraft
  • Hiking and walking
  • Outdoor cooking
  • Water skills
  • Survival skills
  • Outdoor safety
  • Activities and challenges
  • Nature and outdoor knowledge
  • Tips gained from your own experience
  • Ideas for helping people develop outdoor skills
  • You can also suggest subjects that you think Survival Guides UK should cover.

If there’s something you think people should know, tell us about it.

You Don’t Have to Be a Writer

This is important.

We aren’t looking for perfect writers.

We’re looking for people who know things.

You might be an experienced walker who knows how to plan a long-distance route.

You might be a Scout leader who has spent years teaching campcraft.

You might be a bushcraft enthusiast who has developed a great way of teaching fire lighting.

You might simply have learned something through years of being outdoors that you wish you’d known when you started.

Your experience is valuable.

You can send us your idea, notes or even a rough draft and we’ll help turn it into a clear, useful Survival Guides UK resource.

How It Works

1

Tell Us About Yourself

Complete the contributor form and tell us a little about your outdoor experience and what you’d like to contribute.

2

Share Your Idea

You can submit a finished article, rough notes, an activity idea or other useful material.

4

We Prepare It for Publication

We’ll review, edit and format your contribution so that it fits the Survival Guides UK style and is useful for our readers.

5

You Get the Credit

Your contribution is published with your name and contributor information.

Where appropriate, we’ll also include links to your website, social profile, organisation or other relevant work.
